German Travel Agents Experience Ireland's Luxury Tourism Offering

Eight luxury travel agents from Germany are exploring Ireland this week, as guests of Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland.

The aim of the visit is to familiarise the German travel agents with Ireland and our superb luxury tourism offering, so that when they return home, they will be better informed and more enthusiastic than ever about Ireland when advising their clients about planning and booking their next luxury holiday. 

Nadine Lehmann, Tourism Ireland’s Manager for DACH countries (Germany, Austria and Switzerland), said: “Tourism Ireland was delighted to invite this group of specialist luxury travel agents from Germany to Ireland, to experience at first-hand some of our luxury tourism offering, including our unique visitor experiences, boutique hotels and high-end resorts. Seeing is believing and our aim is that when they return home, they will be even more enthusiastic about the destination, helping to secure a greater share of their business for Ireland in 2027 and beyond.”

During their time here, the luxury travel agents carried out site inspections at some of our top luxury hotels, including Lyrath Estate, Hayfield Manor and Powerscourt Hotel. 

The travel agents’ busy itinerary also included Ballykilcavan Farm and Brewery in Stradbally, in Laois. They enjoyed a traditional Irish music session at Malzard's Pub in Stoneyford, in Kilkenny, as well as a scenic cruise of Cork Harbour with Cork Sea Safari and a private guided tour of Mount Congreve Gardens in Kilmeaden, in Waterford. It was then on to Wicklow, for a guided tour and whiskey tasting at Powerscourt Distillery and visits to Powerscourt Estate and Glendalough.
