Why We’ve Already Rebooked Sani Resort for Next Year

It’s not often that I return from a family holiday and immediately start looking at dates to go back. But that’s exactly what happened after our week at Sani Resort in Greece.

In fact, before we’d even fully unpacked our suitcases, we’d already rebooked for the same time next year.

After spending a week exploring the resort, trying the restaurants, testing out the activities and staying at Porto Sani, I can honestly say that Sani Resort is one of the best family holidays we’ve ever had.

First Impressions

From the moment we arrived, it was clear this wasn’t your average resort.

The private transfer was waiting for us at the airport, and from the second we checked in, everything felt effortless. Staff knew our names, our concierge was always on hand to help, and nothing ever seemed like too much trouble.

Luxury can sometimes feel formal or intimidating, but Sani manages to be both high-end and genuinely relaxed.

The resort itself is spread across five hotels, all connected by beautiful beaches, pine forests, walking paths and a marina lined with restaurants, shops and bars.

Despite its size, it never felt crowded.

Why Porto Sani Won Me Over

We stayed in a One Bedroom Suite with a Private Garden at Porto Sani, and it quickly became my favourite of the five hotels.

Unlike some of the other properties, Porto Sani isn’t directly on the beach, but I actually think that’s part of its charm. The marina, restaurants, sports facilities and entertainment are all within easy walking distance, making it one of the most convenient locations in the resort.

The atmosphere felt calm and luxurious without ever feeling too quiet or overly family-focused.

Although Porto Sani is known as one of the best options for families, it never felt overrun with children. There was plenty going on, but there was also space to relax.

The spa was excellent, the pools were beautiful and the whole hotel felt incredibly well designed for families who still want a touch of luxury.

The Food Deserves Its Own Mention

One of the biggest surprises was just how good the food was.

Let’s be honest, when you hear “resort dining” you often lower your expectations slightly. At Sani, that simply isn’t necessary. With 28 restaurants across the resort, there is an enormous amount of choice, and we genuinely didn’t have a bad meal all week.

The Dine Around programme made it easy to explore different restaurants each evening. Instead of eating in the same hotel every night, we found ourselves trying new places all across the resort.

Some personal favourites included Grill by the Pool at Sani Beach, Beach House at Sani Dunes, Sea Breeze in Porto Sani, Macaroni at the Marina and Ouzerie at Sani Club, which combines fantastic food with some of the best views in the resort.

Even the children’s menus were well thought out, and staff were incredibly accommodating when Conor wanted something different.

A Resort That Actually Gets Family Holidays Right

One thing that impressed me throughout the week was how much thought had gone into family experiences.

The kids’ clubs were excellent, with activities ranging from silent discos and talent shows to face painting and sports sessions. Faye attended twice and loved every minute.

There were also plenty of little touches that made a difference.

One afternoon, an ice cream cart appeared seemingly out of nowhere, handing out free ice creams to smiling children. It sounds simple, but those are often the moments kids remember most.

For parents travelling with babies, there’s even a “Babe Watch” service on the beach, where staff can supervise little ones for a short time while parents enjoy a swim in the sea.

It’s the kind of thoughtful detail that makes you realise Sani really understands family travel.

The Activities We Loved Most

There is so much included at Sani that it would be impossible to fit everything into one trip.

One of our highlights was the Bear Grylls Survival Academy. The kids absolutely loved it and the staff were fantastic.

The Treetop Adventure was another big hit and we actually did it twice during our stay. It’s brilliant fun, although I’d personally recommend it more for children aged eight and over. Some of the obstacles can be challenging, and once you start, there’s no turning back.

Beyond that, there were opportunities for rock climbing, football, basketball, trampolines and archery, all included as part of the resort experience.

For children who take their sports seriously, the Chelsea Football Academy and Rafa Nadal Tennis Centre offer professional coaching programmes throughout the season.

Exploring the Resort

One of the best decisions we made was hiring bikes and scooters for the week.

Not only did it make getting around easier, but it quickly became part of the fun for the kids. Evening rides back from dinner became a daily highlight and gave them a little extra independence around the resort.

For older children and teenagers, the dedicated Teen Zone near the marina provides a great place to socialise and unwind.

The White Party Everyone Talks About

If you’re visiting during the summer, try to plan around the resort’s famous White Party, held every Wednesday evening.

The atmosphere is fantastic, and it becomes one of the social highlights of the week.

My advice would be to book dinner beforehand at one of the nearby restaurants in Sani Beach and then head straight to the party afterwards.

It’s one of those experiences that really adds to the feeling that you’re staying somewhere special.

Which Hotel Would I Choose?

After touring all five hotels, each definitely has its own personality. Sani Beach is lively, family-friendly and offers excellent value within the resort. Sani Club is perfect for guests looking for peace, privacy and beautiful natural surroundings. Sani Dunes feels contemporary and stylish, with a more adult-focused atmosphere and one of the best spas in the resort.

Sani Asterias is the ultimate luxury option. Exclusive, private and incredibly high-end. When we toured the three-bedroom villa, Faye immediately announced that it looked like “where Ronaldo would live”, which honestly wasn’t far off.

But for me, Porto Sani remains the standout. It struck the perfect balance between luxury, family facilities, location and atmosphere.

Final Thoughts

The easiest way to describe Sani Resort is that everything simply works.

The service is exceptional without being intrusive. The food exceeds expectations. The facilities are world-class. And every member of the family finds something they genuinely love.

It’s rare to find a resort that appeals equally to toddlers, teenagers, parents and grandparents, but Sani somehow manages it.
