Some moments last only a second but stay with us for a lifetime. This category invites photographers to freeze those rare, meaningful instants that evoke emotion, tell a story, and remind us of the beauty, wonder, and depth of human experience.

Family connections, special occasions, first looks, heart-warming moments captured and cherished forever.

“Judges will assess entries based on emotional impact, storytelling, authenticity, creativity, and the ability to capture a memorable moment that leaves a lasting impression on the viewer. The strongest images will combine visual quality with a powerful sense of meaning, connection, or significance.”

Hints & Tips 

• Emotional impact – Does the image evoke a strong feeling such as joy, wonder, sadness, excitement, love, or surprise?

• Storytelling – Does the photograph tell a compelling story or capture a meaningful event, interaction, or experience?

• Authenticity – Does the moment feel genuine and natural rather than staged or artificial?

• Lasting impression – Does the photograph stay in the viewer’s mind after they have seen it?

The VIVA Moments Photographer of the Year Competition by VIVA Cruises launched on the 1st May 2026 continues and agents are invited to submit their photos in each of the Monthly categories for a chance to win the Monthly prize of a Rituals Gift Bag and a seat at the host table at the 2026 ITTN Irish Travel Trade awards – where they can “Enjoy the Moment”, and be in with a chance to Win a River Cruise for two! HOW TO ENTER

It’s really simple to enter. Just upload your pictures (no more than 2) each month Viva Moments – Photographer of the Year Entry Form You can enter each month if you wish (must be different pictures, so your odds of winning are even higher!) Travel agents in both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland can enter. You must own the picture, and when sending it to us just tell us your full name, agency name and don’t forget to give your photo a caption!

Each month, the judges – ITTN along with Viva Cruises, Michelle Daniels & Stephan Sands , will select a monthly winner. The monthly winners will receive a Viva Rituals Gift Set & a ticket to the Irish Travel Trade Awards 2026, where they will be hosted by Team Viva Cruises.

On the night, one overall winner will be crowned, taking home a fabulous river cruise on the Danube or the Rhine on one of the amazing ships of your choice.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence can be entered into.

2. Any Government-licensed travel agent/tour operator in the Republic of Ireland, and any ABTA travel agent/tour operator in Northern Ireland, can enter.

3. No more than 2 pictures can be entered each month, but agents can enter for all 6 months.

4. All entrants give their permission for the ITTN Group to feature their pictures on the ITTN Group websites and Social media channels.

5. The prize is subject to availability with Viva Cruises

6. The winners must ensure they have the correct travel documents Flights or transfers are not included
