Tourism NI Hails Success of Belfast Hosting Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann as 'Incredible Moment'

Tourism NI has hailed the success of Belfast’s inaugural hosting of the annual Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann as “an incredible moment” and said it looks forward to welcoming visitors back next year, when Belfast hosts the event for a second consecutive year.

Newly released footfall figures show 1.6 million people were in Belfast city centre during the Fleadh.

Throughout the eight days of celebrations, Belfast’s streets came alive with energy and creativity, and Tourism Northern Ireland said it is proud to have played its part in helping deliver such a phenomenal event.

Laura McCorry, Chief Executive of Tourism Northern Ireland, described the Fleadh as "an incredible moment for Belfast and Northern Ireland."
