Tourism Agencies Host German Travel Journalists on Heritage Tour Around Ireland's Ancient East

Six journalists from Germany, representing various print and online publications with a combined audience of around 1.5 million readers, have been visiting Ireland’s Ancient East and Dublin, as guests of Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland.

The journalists followed a bespoke itinerary showcasing the beauty of Ireland in autumn, as well as our vibrant craft culture. Their itinerary included Mount Usher Gardens, the Olde Shillelagh Stickmakers, a forest bathing experience in the Wicklow Mountains, Glendalough, Beyond the Trees Avondale and Avoca Mill in County Wicklow.

In County Kilkenny, they visited Highbank Orchards in Cuffesgrange, enjoyed a walking tour of Kilkenny with Shenanigans Tours, viewed the ‘Of Sand & Ash’ exhibition at the National Design & Craft Gallery, did a Wild Irish Botanicals workshop with My Skin Integrity and a wax carving workshop with Spirit Jewellery and visited the Kilkenny Design store. Other highlights included a food tour in Dublin with Fab Food Trails.
