The Grand Hotel Malahide Unveils Renovated 'Tara Suite' Wedding & Event Space
The Grand Hotel in Malahide - which forms part of the FBD Hotels & Resorts group - has unveiled its newly renovated wedding and event space, The Tara Suite, following a complete transformation.

Since taking over the hotel in March 2025, FBD Hotels & Resorts has invested €7m into the refurbishment of the hotel to create a space that reflects the elegant vintage glamour of past eras balanced with contemporary style notes. The first phase featured the ground floor areas and the second phase of the refurbishment includes a refresh of the Arena Health & Fitness Club, the transformation of the Tara Suite event space and the reinvention the original hotel which dates back to 1835, now known as The Phoenix Wing.

The new Tara Suite blends timeless elegance with contemporary style, offering guests an unforgettable experience for weddings, events, and conferences. With stunning views overlooking the Malahide Estuary, the suite can accommodate banquets for up to 300 people and conferences up to 450 people. Interior designer Liz Harte has infused the space with thoughtfully curated details to ensure modern sophistication and elegance for every event.

Textured Hohenberger wallpaper in soft beige, crème, gold, and sand tones surrounds the room, and is complemented by newly added panelling painted in a refined grey-beige tone. A new carpet featuring a neutral contemporary abstract design and floor-to-ceiling velvet drapes with decorative pullbacks, are complemented with six sparkling crystal chandeliers that add warmth, depth, and grandeur to the space, creating a glamorous and inviting ambience.

The redesigned bar features striking gold panelling and stylish light fittings. A built-in dancefloor and stage ensure every event is filled with energy and sophistication. The Tara staircase has also been beautifully refurbished with gold-textured wallpaper and panelling, seamlessly tying in with the new ground-floor design.
