PATA UK & Ireland Launches Agent Advice Masterclass Series

Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) UK & Ireland has announced a new Masterclass series with industry experts, designed to give practical insight into the issues that matter most.

The first webinar, ‘Crisis Management: Are You Prepared for the Unexpected?’, takes place online this month on Tuesday 22 September from 14:00 - 14:30. Open to all stakeholders with an interest in the Pacific Asia region, the guest expert will provide practical guidance on preparing for and responding to unexpected events such as natural disasters, accidents and global health emergencies.

Leading the session will be Alan Pattisson F.Inst.TT, Managing Director of Travel Risk Professionals (TRP). With more than 30 years’ experience in the insurance industry, Alan has extensive expertise in crisis management and developing crisis response teams for travel businesses.

“The first session theme comes at a particularly timely moment for the travel industry. The recent flood in Nepal is a stark reminder of the sudden challenges travel businesses can face. The masterclass will give attendees practical advice on crisis planning and responding effectively when unexpected situations arise," said Chris Crampton, Chairman - PATA UK & Ireland.

Alan will cover crisis planning, selecting and preparing a crisis team, and responding to both common and unusual situations, drawing on real-world examples and sharing practical advice that businesses can take away and apply.

The free, live 30-minute session will include time for questions and is open to travel agents, tour operators and travel suppliers such as hotels, airlines, tourist boards and DMCs. The webinar will also be recorded and subsequently made available on the PATA UK & Ireland website.
