Nobu Madrid Brings Its Signature Style to the Spanish Capital

Madrid has welcomed a new name to its luxury hotel scene with the opening of Nobu Hotel Madrid, bringing the internationally recognised Nobu experience to the Spanish Capital for the first time.

Located in the elegant Las Cortes district, between Plaza de Cibeles and Puerta del Sol, the 50-room hotel combines contemporary design, Japanese-inspired hospitality, and the culinary credentials Nobu is known for.

At the heart of the property is Madrid’s first Nobu restaurant, creating a three-level dining destination that also includes an all-day Lobby Lounge and an intimate cocktail bar. Here, Chef Nobu’s distinctive cuisine blends traditional Japanese techniques with South American influences, alongside ingredients that celebrate Spain.

Guests can expect Nobu classics such as Black Cod Miso and Yellowtail Jalapeño, while locally inspired dishes include Canarian sea bass and Mediterranean tuna. Architecture and design studio GRONDA designed the restaurant, with warm bronze ceilings, dark stone floors, rich timber panelling, and floor-to-ceiling windows that connect the restaurant to the streets of Madrid.

The hotel’s cocktail bar offers a more intimate experience, inspired by the building’s former life as a bank. Original features, including substantial vault walls and safety deposit boxes, have been retained, creating a distinctive backdrop for evenings centred on martini-style cocktails, vinyl DJ sets, and playful takes on Spanish favourites such as Nobu-style Gildas and blue cheese croquetas.

For a different perspective, guests can head to The Rooftop on the seventh floor, where panoramic views stretch across Madrid. The atmosphere is particularly appealing at sunset, with aperitivo-style cocktails and a relaxed sharing menu featuring dishes such as Sea Bass and Coconut Ceviche, Tortilla with Dry Miso and Salmon Bikini with Caviar.

At street level, the Lobby Lounge has been designed as a welcoming “living room” for both hotel guests and Madrid locals. Its offering evolves throughout the day, from speciality coffee sourced through local roasters to wines, cocktails and light dishes, including Nobu’s interpretation of the classic club sandwich.

Upstairs, the hotel’s 50 rooms and suites offer a quieter retreat from the city's energy. Designed by Studio Caramba, the interiors combine warm woods, organic textures, broad green accents and softly layered lighting. Floor-to-ceiling windows further emphasise the sense of place, framing views across the Madrid skyline.

The standout accommodation is the 105 sq. m Nobu Suite, complete with its own private terrace, an urban sanctuary designed for longer stays and special occasions.

Wellness also has its own dedicated space, with an indoor swimming pool and a state-of-the-art Technogym fitness centre, giving guests a place to recharge after exploring the city.

With Nobu’s signature combination of exceptional dining, thoughtful design and heartfelt service, Nobu Hotel Madrid brings a fresh international energy to one of Europe’s most exciting capitals. From its rooftop sunsets and sophisticated dining to its intimate rooms and distinctive design, it offers a stylish new base for experiencing Madrid.
