Loveholidays Reveals Top Rated Resorts by Irish families with Affordable Deals Still Available for Mid-Term Break
St Julian’s in Malta, Santa Ponsa in Mallorca and Mijas Costa in Spain are the highest-rated resort towns among Irish families, a new ranking from loveholidays has revealed.
The online travel agent asked Irish families that travelled during summer to rate their hotels across seven different criteria, including holiday experience, location, service, value for money, cleanliness, facilities and food and drink. Each hotel’s overall score reflects its performance across all areas, with average scores used to identify the destinations with the highest-rated hotels.
For families still deciding where to go for a mid-term break getaway or planning ahead to next summer, loveholidays’ ranking offers reassurance that hotels in each destination received strong ratings from fellow holidaymakers.
The seaside resort town of St Julian’s, Malta topped the rankings with an overall score of 4.67 out of 5, offering a mix of ultimate relaxation and buzzy neighbourhoods set around its glistening marina.
It’s no surprise that family favourite Santa Ponsa in Mallorca took second spot, scoring highest for holiday experience (4.55) and location (4.76). With its sandy beaches, world-class golf club and sparkling turquoise water, there’s something for the whole family to enjoy.
In third place was the rolling coastline of Mijas Costa, Spain with an overall score of (4.4), ranking highest for cleanliness (4.71) and range of facilities (4.48).
Also making the top ten were firm-favourites including Puerto del Carmen in Lanzarote and Torremolinos in Spain - destinations that Irish families return to year after year.
