Las Vegas Ranked Happiest Place to Visit in the US

Las Vegas has been officially named the happiest place to travel to in the US.

Researchers analysed more than one million reviews to find the destinations that bring travellers the most joy, with Sin City leading the US.

Of all the reasons to visit —the five-star hotels, the live music and entertainment, the casinos, and the fine dining—this one might be the most compelling. According to a July 2026 report from Irish travel insurance experts at JustCover, Sin City was named the happiest place to travel in the US.

To compile the rankings, JustCover examined more than one million online reviews of attractions, resorts, national parks, scenic sites, and other destinations across 155 vacation spots worldwide. Researchers identified reviews that included language expressing happiness or joy, such as travellers writing that a destination “made me so happy” or that they experienced “genuine happiness” during their visit.

From there, each destination was assigned a “Happy Place Score” based on the proportion of happiness-related reviews compared with its total number of reviews. Those percentages were normalized to a 100-point scale, with higher scores indicating a greater prevalence of happiness-related language in traveller reviews. Las Vegas came in at No. 4 overall with a score of 88 out of 100—and, if you’ve ever been to this iconic Nevada city, you’re likely familiar with why exactly the destination stood out as the happiest place to travel in the country.

“The sheer concentration of restaurants, entertainment and spectacle gives people a lot of reasons to feel good about being there,” the report stated.

“Alongside this, it’s a popular destination for weddings, milestone birthdays and stag and hen parties [bachelor and bachelorette parties], meaning many people arrive in the city already in a mood to celebrate.”

Plus, with so many things to do in Las Vegas, travellers of all ages and interests can find exactly what brings them joy, whether it’s the famous Bellagio fountain show, a professional sports game, or an immersive experience at Sphere.
