ITTN Talks to Peter Ryan, Azamara Cruises' BDM for UK & Ireland

ITTN’s Sharon Jordan caught up with Peter Ryan, Strategic Business Development Manager UK & Ireland at Azamara Cruises, to talk about the cruise line, what sets its small-ship offering apart, and some of the exciting developments ahead.

Azamara’s fleet comprises four boutique-style ships, Azamara Quest, Azamara Journey, Azamara Onward and Azamara Pursuit, each carrying approximately 700 guests. Their smaller size allows the ships to access ports and destinations that larger vessels often cannot, bringing guests closer to the heart of the places they visit.

The cruise line continues to place a major emphasis on destination immersion, with longer stays, overnight calls and extended destination days forming an important part of the Azamara experience. Its worldwide programme spans destinations including Europe, Asia, Alaska, Australia, New Zealand, the Americas and the Caribbean.

There are also exciting developments ahead for the fleet, with Azamara Quest set to undergo a refurbishment in October 2026, including a new penthouse deck with eight luxury suites.

Guests can also expect a host of inclusions as part of the Azamara experience, from a variety of dining venues and 24-hour room service to selected beer, wine and spirits, signature AzAmazing Evenings, self-service laundry and onboard gratuities.

Watch Sharon’s full interview with Peter to hear more about Azamara, its small-ship philosophy and what’s coming next for the brand.
