Globus Group Appoints Karen Cameron Sales Director of All Brands in UK & Ireland
Globus family of brands has announced the appointment of Karen Cameron as Sales Director, overseeing all trade activity for touring brands Cosmos Tours, Globus Journeys and river cruise line Avalon Waterways in the UK and Ireland.
Joining the business on 2nd November, Ms Cameron will lead the relationships with travel agents, trade partners and industry bodies, with responsibility for all sales activity including travel agent engagement and training, familiarisation trips, tour operator product development and marketing, industry events and roadshows and media partnerships.
Working with the wider trade and marketing team, the role will focus on helping partners grow their touring and river cruise sales. With more than 740 itineraries across 80 countries and a wide range of travel styles, this includes ensuring the travel trade has the product knowledge, first-hand experience, tools, and support to match their customers with the perfect tour or river cruise.
Ms Cameron joins Globus family of brands from Ambassador Cruise Line, where she most recently served as Deputy Head of Trade, following a promotion from Divisional Sales Manager. Karen has also covered the Head of Trade role on maternity cover. She recently passed the Level 7 CMI qualification in Strategic Management and Leadership Practice with distinction and has previously worked at Haven, Princess Cruises, P&O Cruises, and Barrhead Travel. Beyond her extensive travel industry experience, Karen is a Tae Kwon Do World Championship multi medal winner, Scottish Tae Kwon Do National Champion and has run a half-marathon.
