Expressway, Bus Éireann’s premium coach service, has announced a revised timetable for its Route 13 Limerick-Tralee and Route 14 Limerick-Killarney services.

The changes are designed to reflect actual traffic conditions along the route and improve service reliability and punctuality for customers.

From 25 October 2026, the weekday service leaving Tralee at 18:00 will operate via MTU Tralee North campus during term time, to offer enhanced connectivity for students and staff. A new 08:00 departure on Sundays from Tralee to Limerick has been added, while Expressway is also incorporating additional running time into a number of trips on the route, particularly during the busy afternoon and evening periods.

Also from October 25 customers can avail of heavily discounted online adult single fares at www.expressway.ie with Tralee/Killarney to Limerick reduced to €10.00 and Newcastle West/Adare to Limerick reduced to just €5.00. These promotional fares will be available until the end of November.

As part of the update, Expressway is implementing a revised timetable structure. The schedule will now have a clear distinction between Monday-Friday, Saturday and Sunday services which will make the timetable easier to read.

In further changes, the 11:40 weekday service from Abbeyfeale to Tralee, the 18:00 Killarney to Abbeyfeale, the Sunday only 19:00 service from Tralee to Limerick, the 20:35 from Limerick to Tralee and the 21:40 from Tralee to Killarney have been withdrawn.

Head of Expressway Andrew Yates says these changes are designed to improve services: “I’m delighted to be able to announce these changes which will mean improved reliability for all communities along the route. We've listened to feedback and kept that in mind while revising the schedule which I hope will offer an enhanced service for our valued customers”.

"Expressway remains committed to providing high-quality, dependable services to communities across Ireland. We encourage all passengers to book their tickets in advance at expressway.ie to guarantee their seat and ensure a smooth and efficient travel experience.”

The revised timetable can be accessed online via Expressway website - https://www.expressway.ie/routes-and-timetables.
