Experience Kissimmee has announced the launch of Film Kissimmee, the official film commission for Osceola County, in Florida.

The commission is created to attract film, television, commercial and digital media productions, showcase the destination's diverse filming locations and expand opportunities for the local tourism economy.

Film Kissimmee will serve as a central resource for production companies, location managers and digital content creators seeking filming opportunities in Central Florida. The initiative connects industry professionals with a wide range of filming locations, local expertise and production resources to help bring stories to life in Osceola County.

"This initiative reflects the hard work of a team that saw an opportunity and took meaningful steps to bring it to life," said DT Minich, President and CEO of Experience Kissimmee.

"Film Kissimmee creates a direct connection between our community and an industry that can drive visitation, support local businesses and introduce new audiences to everything Osceola County has to offer."

Nick Floyd, Experience Kissimmee's Manager of Video Production and the new Director of the Kissimmee Film Commission, will lead Film Kissimmee and oversee efforts to position Osceola County as a premier destination for film, television and commercial productions.

“Just as Osceola County is an excellent place to spend your vacation, we truly believe it is a diverse location for film and television production, and Film Kissimmee is us exploring that intersection between the two,” said Mr Floyd. “I'm beyond excited to kick off this new initiative, not just as an opportunity to showcase so many of our incredible partners, but to welcome fresh perspectives on our destination from filmmakers and producers."

One of Film Kissimmee's greatest strengths is the remarkable variety of filming environments available throughout Osceola County. Within a short distance, filmmakers can access a diverse collection of landscapes and settings that capture many sides of Florida, including natural waterways, cypress-lined wetlands, historic downtown streets, luxury vacation homes, ranch lands, hospitality properties and modern innovation centres.

Adding to this versatility is Kissimmee's expansive collection of vacation homes, offering filmmakers unique and production-ready settings ranging from luxurious estates and themed properties to contemporary residences and resort-style retreats, each providing distinctive backdrops for film, television and commercial productions.

To support the initiative's launch, Experience Kissimmee partnered with a professional location scout with more than 20 years of experience. The scout identified and documented more than 100 potential filming locations across Osceola County. These locations are being added to an online directory powered by Reel-Scout, an industry-leading location management platform that allows filmmakers to search available properties, review photography and access production-related information.

Beyond attracting film and television projects, Film Kissimmee is expected to create meaningful economic opportunities for local businesses. Production crews often require accommodations, dining, transportation, equipment rentals, supplies and a variety of support services while filming on location.

Those expenditures can generate additional business for hospitality operators and local service providers while supporting Experience Kissimmee's broader mission of driving tourism-related economic impact throughout Osceola County.

Looking ahead, Film Kissimmee plans to continue expanding its location database, developing educational resources for local partners and coordinating familiarization tours for producers and location managers across the United States. These tours will provide industry professionals with firsthand access to Osceola County's filming assets while fostering relationships with local businesses and property owners.
