ITTN's Katie Doyle is on the ground at the ITAA Conference 2026 in Salou, Spain this weekend where she is keeping you up to date with all the updates on the ground.

This morning Jeanette Taylor, representing Blue Insurance, has announced the company’s exciting transition to Zurich as their underwriting partner, marking a significant new chapter for the Irish travel insurance business.

Speaking at the annual ITAA Conference in Salou, Ms Taylor highlighted the opportunities the move will create for Blue Insurance and its travel-agent partners, particularly in the growing market for bespoke travel and high-end luxury holidays.

“I am delighted to be here at the ITAA Conference and to be one of the speakers on one of my favourite topics — Why Travel Insurance? Protect Your Clients,” said Ms Taylor.

“Blue Insurance has supported travel agents and their customers for the past 20 years, and we are incredibly proud of that relationship. Our move to Zurich represents an exciting next step and will give us even more opportunities to provide cover for bespoke trips, luxury travel and high-end destinations.”

Taylor also emphasised that customer protection remains at the heart of Blue Insurance, with a strong focus on providing customers with support when they need it most — from medical assistance and cancellation cover to travel disruption and access to a 24/7 English-speaking Travel GP.

The transition to Zurich is expected to further strengthen Blue Insurance’s offering while continuing the company’s long-standing commitment to the Irish travel trade.

“We have been alongside our travel-agent partners for 20 years, and we intend to continue that journey,” Ms Taylor added. “Our commitment to supporting agents, protecting their customers and delivering excellent service remains as strong as ever.”

The move to Zurich comes at an exciting time for Blue Insurance as it continues to develop its proposition for the modern traveller and strengthen its position within the Irish travel insurance market.
