AmaWaterways and Azamara Host an Immersive Trade Evening at Waterford Castle

ITTN’s Lorraine Hales continued the journey to Waterford Castle yesterday evening, where AmaWaterways and Azamara played host to agents from Waterford, Dungarvan, Kilkenny, Carlow and Cork. A fabulous evening was had by all in the exquisite island location in the sunny south-east.

The evening began with a beautiful drinks reception on the lawn in front of the stunning castle with hosts Katrina Latimer, Strategic Key Account Manager UK & Ireland, AmaWaterways; Stuart Pearse, Director of Sales UK and Ireland; and Peter Ryan, Strategic Account Manager UK and Ireland, Azamara.

Presentations on the exciting new developments for both AmaWaterways and Azamara followed in the castle conservatory, giving agents and guests insight into the destination-immersive experiences offered by both ocean and river cruise itineraries with these collaborative brands.

Azamara’s fleet of four luxury small ships—Quest, Journey, Pursuit and Onward—each carries 700 passengers on unique, destination-immersive journeys across the continents.

With the recent announcement of the addition of a penthouse suite deck to Azamara Quest, Stuart showed a video presentation outlining the impressive transformation and how guests onboard will enjoy the enhanced features onboard the beautiful, refurbished vessel. The future is bright for this cruise line.

The other ships in the fleet will undergo the same refurbishment in the next few years.

Pete outlined the brand loyalty and the growth in Ireland and the UK, which now represents 40% of the company’s business overall, and thanked the agents for getting behind them to grow the brand’s presence in Ireland.

Azamara’s Always Included promise offers incredible value for guests on these small ships, getting closer to the heart of each destination, offering more time in port and signature AzAmazing Evenings that will give each guest memories to last a lifetime.

Katrina’s presentation for AmaWaterways showcased the brand and its global river itineraries to perfection.

AmaWaterways’ fleet of 32 continues to grow and adapt as they curate unique itineraries that guests enjoy in incredibly luxurious surroundings, with fine dining, authentic experiences and daily excursions available for guests to choose freely.

Tom Randles, President of the ITAA, was in attendance and was delighted to see such a great initiative of trade engagement from these cruise lines.

There was a fantastic opportunity for discussion over a sumptuous dinner and even a surprise hot-air balloon launch that provided an amazing experience in the background.

Ian Manto, General Manager of Harvey Travel, thanked Peter, Stuart and Katrina for bringing such an event to the south-east and offering agents outside Dublin the opportunity to engage fully.

The evening in its entirety perfectly reflected the unique luxury experience offered by both Azamara and AmaWaterways.

Congratulations to Katrina, Peter and Stuart for bringing this unique, immersive collaboration to the trade in Ireland over the last couple of days and inviting ITTN to be part of it!
